Lena

Lena Lazaruk is a Red Deer-based traditional artist who is currently studying at Red Deer Polytechnic to further improve her skills. She specializes in ceramics and sculpture and is expanding into digital art on the side. She specifically focuses on detailed carvings on pottery and ceramic sculptures. She is also passionate about creating wax sculptures that can be cast in bronze. Her work often includes imagery inspired by the digital media she consumes that are based on dark, dystopian, and gothic themes. Other aspects of her art are inspired by insects and flora. In April of 2025 and 2026 she had three of her artworks included in the Red Deer Polytechnic Year End Show at the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery. In her future, her goal is to develop her ceramics skills so that one day she can sell and make a profit off of her pottery and ceramic sculptures. She also aspires to strengthen her bronze casting skills so that she can make more intricate bronze pieces. Lena Strives to create a space where she can connect with like-minded people and share her artwork with individuals who are also inspired by the themes/media she’s inspired by.
